Marquesha Mister – Girls Varsity Basketball

Marquesha Mister has been a very consistent player throughout her career; she has carried the torch leading by example on and off the court. Mister has been the leading motivation for our team first one on the court and the last one leaving. She reached her 1,000th career points mark this year. She recorded a career high (9) 3-pointers made in a game. Mister, scored a career high 35 points this season. Marquesha is in the top two in all categories on our team (Points, Rebounds, Steals, & assist.) She received All District and All City honorable mention her sophomore year, 2nd team All District & All City her junior year. This year Mister received 1st team All District and 1st Team All City, All District & Academic honors as well. She was also nominated to play in the BCSN All-star game. Mister currently ranks 16th in her senior class. Marquesha received 2nd team All City in Soccer as well. On April 11th, Marquesha will be honored as the team’s Most Valuable Player. Zanaye Chandler – Varsity Cheerleader

Zanaye is a senior cheerleader at Scott High School who has cheered all four years. She is the backbone of the team. She is a great role model, and she always has spirit and pushes her team. Ms. Chandler is responsible, which is why she is a captain on the team, and why she is a successful student in the classroom earning a 3.6 cumulative grade point average. So let’s send her out with a bang by voting for her and making her a two time Athlete of the Year.


Jaali Peterson – Boys Freshmen Basketball

Jaali Peterson is a freshman on the freshmen boys’ basketball team at Scott.  He plays the point guard position where he is always looked to get his team involved offensively. He plays with passion and urgency on defense, which leads to easy transition points. He is an active student that participates with Student Voices, Teen Pep, the band, cross-country, soccer team, and plans to play baseball and run track. He works in school and has a 3.4 grade point average. He also represented the freshmen class on Homecoming court. Please vote for Jaali for Winter Athlete of the Year.


Malachi Johnson – Boys Junior Varsity Basketball

Malachi is a sophomore on the Junior Varsity basketball team. This is his second year playing. He is a point guard who is very quick, which helps him on offence and defense. Malachi is a good team player. He models what a good basketball player should look like. He has a 2.7 G.P.A. We look forward to him becoming more involved in this program. Vote Mr. Johnson for Winter Athlete of the Year.


Ashraf Khamis – Wrestling

Mr. Ashraf Khamis is a foreign exchange student from Zanzibar, Tanzania. Ashraf in his first year wrestling every won first place at the City League championships in the 106-pound weight class. He also placed in several other tournaments throughout the wrestling season. Ashraf is a hard worker and learned very fast to become a champion. He also played soccer and made the honor roll in school. He is apart of Teen Outreach Program, and volunteers all over the city. Vote for Ashraf as he deserves to be the Winter Athlete of the Year.


Jason Henderson – Wrestling

Jason is a senior wrestler at Scott High School. Jason is the captain of the wrestling team. He works hard and is a respectable young man. He gives his all on the mat and in life. He was second in the city in the 138-pound weight class. He wrestled hard in all his tournaments in which he placed in all of them. He earned a 3.1 for the 1st semester. Vote for Jason Henderson for the Winter Athlete of the Year.
