Multiple Teams · Fall Athlete of the Year – Voting is OPEN!

The nominations for the Fall Athlete of the Year are below: 

Omar Johnson – Football:
Screen Shot 2016-11-01 at 9.23.08 AMOmar Johnson has been a 3-year starter on the varsity football team. He has led the team in rushing the last two seasons and is a great teammate. He scored the first two touchdowns in the new bulldog stadium in 2014 catching a touchdown pass and returning a kickoff while winning the 2014 City League Championship. Since 2014, Omar has been on the All-City team selected by other head coaches in the league. He is also getting it done in the classroom. The first quarter of the 2016 school year, Omar received all A’s and B’s on his report card. We always talk about being a student first and athlete second and he has done this with tremendous honor. Omar is looking forward to running track this season and furthering his sporting career in college. You should vote for Omar because he is a leader and works hard on the football field and also in the classroom.

Ronald Boose – Football:

Ronald Boose is a 2-year starter on the varsity football team. He plays offensive guard and tackle and is a key component blocking and paving the way for runners and the quarterbacks. He gets along well with all of his teammates and is very encouraging towards others. Ronald is a senior who has taken a leadership role on the offensive line and to help teach the underclassmen the ropes of learning the position. Ronald is a funny, kind and hardworking person who wants to be the best at what he does.


Desi Oshodin – Tennis:

Screen Shot 2016-11-01 at 9.25.57 AMThrough incredible hard work and dedication Desi worked her way up to our second singles spot.  She came to every practice over the summer and would often try, and fail, to talk Coach Clark into having more practices than what was allowed by the state.  As a sophomore she earned second place at the Toledo City League Championships. Desi was an instrumental part in Scott finishing second overall in the City League this year.  This is the highest our girls have placed in decades!  Desi’s hard work on the court is matched by her achievements in the classroom.  She made the first quarter Principal’s List with a 4.0 GPA.  Desi was also recognized by her opposing coaches with the award of Second Team All-City honors.

Keyahna Adams – Volleyball:

Keyahna Adams is a senior and plays Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball. She received Honorable Mention All-City last volleyball season and will receive better honors after a great senior season. She also attended several camps to enhance her volleyball skills. She’s a leader on the court and truly loves the game.  She is also involved with the band as a Majorette. Vote for Ms. Keyahna Adams!


Jaylin Buckley – Girls Cross Country:

Coach Ty is nominating Jaylin Buckley. Ms. Buckly has soared this school year in short period of time she was student of the month, she was 4th in the city in Cross Country which advanced her to the D2 Districts unfortunately she could not make it sue to her being an accomplished Jr. Olympic fighter and had a match on the same day. Ms. Buckley has achieved all of this while keeping her GPA above a 3.0. Her goals are to fight in the Olympics and graduate from a HBCU as an OBGYN.



Michael Mitchell – Boys Cross Country:

Screen Shot 2016-11-01 at 9.29.19 AMMichael Mitchell is a senior Cross Country runner in his first year. Mr. Mitchell who competed very hard this year and was the captain of the team. Mr. Mitchell is an honor roll student and part of the National Honor Society, and was named Homecoming King for the 2016/17 school year. He was on the soccer team, plays basketball, and volunteers in his community. Vote for Mike for the Fall Athlete of the year!



Wakeso Peterson – Boys Soccer:
Screen Shot 2016-11-01 at 9.30.41 AMWakeso Peterson is a freshmen captain soccer player for Scott High School. Wakeso led the team in goals 13 for the season and in assist with 15. Wakeso represented the freshmen class for Homecoming Court. He has a 4.4 GPA for the first quarter. Wakeso was selected 1st Team All League Division II in the NWOHSSL. He ran cross-country, is on the bowling team, and plans to play basketball and run track. Wakeso also is in the photography and chess clubs. Vote Wakeso Peterson for Fall Athlete of the year.



Cody Farrow – Boys Soccer:
Screen Shot 2016-11-01 at 9.31.53 AMCody Farrow is a senior captain soccer player at Scott High School. Cody was the lone senior on the team. He has played for Scott for three years. His leadership has led Scott to its first winning season 7-6-2. Cody finished the season with 4 goals and 8 assist. Cody received Honorable Mention in the league voting. He will represent Scott in the Senior Bowl soccer match. Cody played football, and basketball. Cody volunteers in his community, and is doing well in school. Vote for Cody Farrow for Fall Athlete of the year!

Terriana Jaynes – Cheerleading:

I nominate Terriana Jaynes because she is a dedicated, dependable and hardworking. She always has a smile on her face and will always willing to help out no matter what the activity is. This is her second year on the squad and she is able to her all not only on in Cheerleading but in the classroom and in other sports. Terriana has over a 4.0 grade average. In addition to being a cheerleader she is also on the tennis team.


Ron’Naysha Smith – Cheerleading:
Screen Shot 2016-11-01 at 12.39.13 PMThis freshman has come into Scott and made an impact. She is spirited and hardworking and is showing real leadership in practice and at games. Ron’Naysha represented the freshman class on Homecoming court.
